What are some popular programs used to create ecards?

I have searched the forums here, but have not seen where anyone has asked this question, and I am VERY curious! For example, I use Photoshop CS5, a couple of online sites for glitter, interesting text and what-not and have, but have yet to use GIMP. However, I see some of the most popular cards seem to be created using some other software programs and I was wondering if anyone is willing to share their secret (so to speak). Inquiring minds want to know! LOL
