Can I use Pictures from SXC.HU?

They have free stuff and allow people to use it for art purposes... Can we use pix from there?

If the photos are free, and without any infringement of copyright
law, you can use them as material for cards.

which also means that we are allowed to take permission from AUTHORS before using their materials on our cards.. right?

yes, if they have given you necessary permissions, and they are the owner of the copyright, then you can use them as material for cards.
