Chinese New Year 2016: The Year of the Monkey

The longest and the most important celebration for the families in China, the Chinese New Year begins on February 08, 2016. Chinese months are reckoned by the lunar calendar, with each month beginning on the darkest day. New Year festivities start on the first day of the month and continue till the fifteenth, when the moon is brightest. In China, people take a break from their work to prepare for the big day and celebrate the New Year.
